The Oscars Reveal Why Straight Outta Compton Cast Didn’t Get An Invitation

Straight Outta Compton did not get nominations for its cast at this year’s Oscars but that is not the only controversy trailing the N.W.A biopic.

It was revealed yesterday that the critically acclaimed movie did not get invites to the 2016 Oscars. None of its stars or Producers (Ice Cube, Dr Dre inclusive) also got invites.

And while that was coming at a very sensitive time, considering how people are still reacting to the lack of diversity in this year’s Oscar nominations, the Oscars have revealed the real reason the box office hit did not get nominations.

According to them, only people nominated got invites for the event. The Writers of Straight Outta Compton did get invites because they got nominated but of course, nobody else did because they were not nominated.

The Oscars further stated that usually when people who were not nominated got invites, it was because their studio got those invites for them and sent it to them.

Universal studios produced Straight Outta Compton and in other words, should have been the one asking for/sending invitations to the biopic’s producers/actors.

Why Universal did not do this is unknown at the moment but the Oscars just washed its hands off all of that drama.

We still think Straight Outta Compton was good though, Oscars invites or not.
